Hi again. So I just finished reading (for the second time) To All The Boys I've Loved Before & P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han. I know I'm not really good at writing a review because it will ended up me fangirling to this book which is gonna happen in a minute (I guess).
I finished those two books within just one day, yes it was really quick because when you're so into a book and you just can't help to knowing what's gonna happen to this characters etc. I enjoy reading this so much and oh crap I think I fall in love with this one fictional character from the book, his name is Peter Kavinsky. So Lara Jean is a sweet innocent girl, half korean and half western. She has two sisters, older sis who already went to college but you're gonna meet her in the first few chapters, Margot and her lil sis, Kitty. Her mom died because some accident in a house when they were all still little.
As you can see the synopsis, all her letters has been mailed to all five boys she has ever loved or liked and it was like in middle school and one of them got sent out to Josh (Margot's bf aka her sister's boyfriend aka her neighbor) and Peter Kavinsky which was her first kiss. Lara Jean realized that she may has still feelings with Josh but she know she shouldn't be because of her sister (duh) and when Josh got the letter, he was completely shocked and blindsided like he didn't know all this time and eventually he will said that he liked Lara Jean way long before he liked her sister.
So to avoid meeting Josh she said to him that she already has a boyfriend (which was a completely lie because she has no boyfriend at all-ever.) Then she runs up to Kavinsky, yes Peter and kissed him suddenly. Then the story begin, Kavinsky and Lara Jean became a fake couple because it will benefit her and him because: A. Peter Kavinsky wants to make his long time ex-girlfriend jealous of him that she will regret her decision. B. To make Josh forget about the letter and then the situation will go back to normal again.
Peter Kavinsky was described by Lara Jean as the super-handsome-dreamy kind of boy.
He has the look of a Handsome Boy from a different time. He could be a dashing World War I soldier, handsome enough for a girl to wait years for him to come back from war, so handsome she could wait forever. He could be wearing a red letterman’s jacket, driving around in a Corvette with the top down, one arm on the steering wheel, on his way to pick up his girl for the sock hop. Peter’s kind of wholesome good looks feel more like yesterday than today. There’s just something about him girls like.Anyway they eventually ended up liked each other and oh crap Kavinsky is just really good sweet and hello who wouldn't like him?! When he said to her that he will save the real thing for the right guy. Oh sweet Kavinsky.
“The thing is . . . I’ve never had a boyfriend before. I’ve never been on a real date before, or held hands walking down the hallway. This is all new for me, so I’m sorry about the forehead thing this morning. I just . . . wish all of these firsts were happening for real and not with you.”When he changed his car just so Kitty can have a ride to school with them, from Black Audi to Minivan. Imagine that.
Peter seems to be thinking this over. He says, “Huh. Okay. Let’s just save some stuff, then.”
“Yeah?”
“Sure. We’ll save some stuff for you to do when it’s the real thing and not for show.”
I’m touched. Who knew Peter could be so thoughtful and generous?
“Like, I won’t pay for stuff. I’ll save that for a guy who really likes you."
We’ve got our eyes locked on her front door when a minivan drives down our street and slows in front of our house. I squint my eyes. It’s Peter Kavinsky. Driving a tan minivan. He ducks his head out the window. “Are you coming or not?”When he is on a strange mood.
“Why are you driving that?” Kitty calls out.
“Never mind that, Katherine,” Peter calls back. “Just get in.” Kitty and I look at each other.
“Me too?” Kitty asks me
Peter laughs. “Point taken.” He pushes away from the wall and puts his head in my lap, and I go completely still.When they (accidentally) throwing flour and...
I try to make my voice sound normal as I say, “You’re in a really strange mood today.”
He raises an eyebrow at me.
“What kind of mood am I in?” Peter sure loves to hear about himself.
Normally, I don’t mind, but today I’m not in the mood to oblige him.
He already has too many people in his life telling him how great he is.
“The obnoxious kind,” I say, and he laughs.
“I’m sleepy.” He closes
“You made me lose my count on the flour. I’m going to have to start over from scratch!”
“Here, let me do it,” Peter says, coming up close behind me.
I jerk away from him. “No no, I’ll do it,” I say, and he shakes his head and tries to take the measuring cup from me, but I won’t let go, and flour poufs out of the cup and into the air. It dusts us both. Peter starts cracking up and I let out an outraged shriek. “Peter!” He’s laughing too hard to speak.
I cross my arms. “I’d better still have enough flour.”
“You look like a grandma,” he says, still laughing.
“Well, you look like a grandpa,” I counter. I dump the flour in my mixing bowl back into the flour canister.
“Actually, you’re really a lot like my granny,” Peter says. “You hate cussing. You like to bake. You stay at home on Friday nights. Wow, I’m dating my granny. Gross.
When Peter said that if Lara Jean told in advance what is she gonna wear on halloween, he will be Harry Potter or at least from Hogwarts. Ah sweet again. There are so many moments to be honest and that was just a sneak peek for you guys. So I really hope you will read this duo series at least it will fill up your summer holiday feeling. Haha. It's a compilation of songs when I read the book and just have that kind of feeling it's all based on Kavinsky and Lara Jean story. So I hope you enjoy this too. :D
